ANDEW AINSWORTH (Ensemble) is delighted to be at Tuacahn for his third season, and first time in the cast. He was a member of the ’06 stage crew and deck audio for Cinderella, My Fair Lady, and 42nd Street. Andrew graduated from Tuacahn High School in 2006, where he received the Tuacahn Titan Circle award and the Tuacahn High School Sterling Scholar for music. He is also an Eagle Scout. Tuacahn High School credits: School House Rock, Sam in Crazy for You, Bickle in Footloose, Doctor and solo/dance quartet in 42nd Street, Ken in Smokey Joe’s Café, and Adam in Children of Eden. Thanks to all my family and friends for all their support in helping me perform and do what I love to do.
HEIDI ANDERSON* (The Mother Abbess, Madame Thenardier) is thrilled to return for her second season at Tuacahn where she was previously seen in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast as Madame de la Grande Bouche (the Wardrobe) and Carmen Miranda (“Benjamin Calypso”) in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Heidi is a graduate of Dixie State College in St. George, Utah, where she was named Entertainer of the Year for two years. She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and HB Studios in New York City. In 1996 she toured nationally as Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera for Theatreworks USA. She can also be heard on the original soundtrack recording. Other favorite roles: Bernice in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance, Helen Kroger in Pack of Lies, and Josie in A Moon for the Misbegotten. Heidi is grateful for her family and their support as she continues to do what she loves doing best--perform. She’s dedicating this season’s performances to her wonderful mom and three amazing children.
RYAN
ANDERSON (The
Bishop of Digne/Ensemble)
is excited to be back for his
second season at Tuachan
where he will also direct the
Summer Theatre Institute
production of High School
Musical. Ryan is a retired
chiropractor from Soda
Springs, Idaho, and the father of 6 sons. He teaches
science and voice at Tuacahn High School for the
Performing Arts. Local credits include “Loverly”
quartet: My Fair Lady, Tuacahn 2007, Smudge in
Forever Paid (2006), Gen. Schmitz in Seussical
(2006) and director of SGMT’s Joseph and the Technicolor
Dreamcoat (2007). This season is dedicated
to my oldest son, Andrew. Carry on!
BENN ATKIN (Friedrich)
is pleased to join Tuacahn
for his second season. He
played John two years ago
in Tuacahn’s production of
Peter Pan. Outside of Tuacahn,
he has performed in
several community and
high school theater productions.
He attends Tuacahn High School for the
Performing Arts, where he was most recently seen
in Godspell and is also part of the Hyperion Musical
Theater class and Tuacahn Dance Company.
J MICHAEL BAILEY (Ensemble,
Admiral von
Schreiber/Ensemble &
Valjean u/s) has worked
extensively with some of
the most respected theatre
companies in the Mountain
West. This is his first
season at Tuacahn. Favorite
roles include: Sweeney in Sweeney Todd, John
Wilkes Booth in Assassins, George Seurat in Sunday
in The Park With George, Archibald Craven in
The Secret Garden, Leading Player in Pippin, and
Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance. In 2007, J Michael
co-founded and served as Managing Director
for Pinnacle Acting Company, an ensemblebased
theatre company dedicated to actor education
and the production of challenging and obscure works by contemporary playwrights.
He has also recorded several projects for Restless
Water Records and in 2001 was named “One of
Americas Finest Talents” by the largest talent
showcase in America.
HAROLD BARNARD II* (Herr Zeller/Javert) is
proud to be part of Les
Mis and The Sound of Music
at Tuacahn. Other
credits include the national
tours of Oklahoma!
and Titanic as well as regional
credits at The Fulton,
Walnut Street Theater and The Pennsylvania
Shakespeare Festival. An avid songwriter,
Harold has released one CD and has another
coming out this year. For details, check

be greeting everyone after the show as well as
selling his first CD release “From the Road.”

MATTHEW BELLOWS (Ensemble/Marius u/s) is
originally from Salt Lake
City and is thrilled to
make his Tuacahn debut
this summer. Recent credits
include the title role in
Hamlet, Radames in Aida,
Percival in Misalliance,
The Beast in Beauty and the Beast, The Duke in
Big River, Ham in The Ark as well as leading
roles in Handing Down the Names, Rule a Wife
and Have a Wife and The Beggars Opera. Matt
has appeared in various film and television
roles including the WB’s Everwood, Joseph
Smith: Prophet of the Restoration, the family film
Daniel and the Lions and the upcoming releases
of Heber Holiday and Forever Strong. Matthew
has been invited to perform at the Kennedy
Center in Washington twice in the National
evening of scenes and the KCACTF new play
festival. He has been the regional winner of
the Irene Ryan Acting competition and the recipient
of the Eugene Oneill playwriting conference
acting fellowship. Matthew is a certified
actor combatant and has BFA in acting
from Brigham Young University.
CLOTILE BONNER (Ensemble)
is an alumnus of
Tuachan High School and
is excited to perform for
the first time on the Tuachan
stage. She is soon to
be a graduate of BYU with
a bachelor’s in Fine Arts.
She recently performed as
Tatania in A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Doowop
girl Crystal in Little shop of Horrors at the
Egyptian Theatre in Park City, and Aida in Aida
at BYU and the Hale Center Theatre West Valley.
She feels amazed by her family’s wisdom and love each day, and feels privileged to work
in a cast with such beautiful people.
STACIE BONO* (Maria u/s & Ensemble/Fantine)

CAMERON BRONSON (Kurt & Freidrich u/s/
Gavroche) hails from
Ammon, Idaho and
comes from a family of
entertainers who are his
greatest fans. He landed
his first national commercial at the age of 5
and hasn’t looked back. Credits include Minutemen,
Dadnapped, Unaccompanied Minors,
Daddy Day Camp, Everwood, Firestarter and
Touched by an Angel to name a few. He has
performed in London, Paris, Las Vegas, Disney
World and for Carnival and Royal Carribean
Cruise Lines. He is definitely a stage rat!
His stage credits include Les Misérables, Hercules,
Seussical, The Lion King and The Pirates
of Penzance. Cameron aspires to be a professional
athlete when he grows up--he is a
sports addict through and through. Rah-Rah-
Rah Redskins!
DANE CAMP (Ensemble)
is thrilled to be performing
in his first professional
theater production.
He has been seen
in several high school
and community theater
productions in St. George
including Joseph in
SGMT’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor
Dreamcoat, Captain Hook in Dixie High’s Peter
Pan, and Conrad Birdie in SGMT’s Bye,
Bye Birdie. Dane’s dream is to someday write
movies and star in them.

ELIZABETH SOPHIA
CHARLES (Louisa) recently
finished a 1 ½ year
run as Molly with the
American Girls Revue in
Los Angeles and played
Kate, one of the orphans
in Annie with Sally Struthers
at UNLV. Elizabeth
has also performed in several local theatre productions.
She enjoys dancing and has performed
in The Nutcracker with the Moscow Ballet
as a party guest and an angel. Elizabeth enjoys
singing with the choir at her church, as
well as performing with her dance studio. In
May, Elizabeth graduated from eighth grade at
St. Viator School in Las Vegas. She is very
thankful to her parents for their love and support
in helping her follow her dreams!
AUBREE CHRISTENSEN (Brigitta u/s) is honored
to be in the ensemble
and understudy Brigitta
in the The Sound of
Music. She is especially
happy to be able to perform
with her brother
and sister. She played
Becky in Dear Edwina, Jr. at Westside Studios,
has taken several years of dance lessons,
and sang in the school choir. Aubree just finished
6th grade at Hurricane Intermediate
School where she was involved in the Youth
Volunteer Corp, orchestra, and Girl Scouts.
CONOR CHRISTENSEN (Kurt) is excited to
play Kurt in the The
Sound of Music this year
and especially to be able
to perform with his sisters.
He just finished 7th
grade at Hurricane Intermediate
School. He
played the string bass in the Honors Orchestra,
was in the school choir, and has taken tap
lessons. Conor was on the championship,
undefeated football team, is finishing his Eagle
Scout project, and recently earned his
black belt in karate.
EMELINE CHRISTENSEN (Gretl) is thrilled to
play Gretl in the The
Sound of Music and to
perform with her brother
and sister. She just finished
2nd grade where
she was the youngest
member of the school
choir. Eme played Frank’s Mom in Dear Edwina, Jr. at Westside Studios and has taken
dance lessons. She is also active as a Brownie
in Girl Scouts.
AVYNLEE HANNAH
DAHL (Gretl u/s) is so
excited to be part of The
Sound of Music. Singing is
truly her passion, and
she’s already planning
out her audition for
American Idol--7 more
years to go! She performs
often at school, church and family gatherings.
Some of Avynlee’s memorable moments
include being called down to the principal’s
office at school just to sing “Phantom” for the
principal and secretaries. She also livened up
a tired crowd at Disneyland while waiting for
the midnight shuttle by presenting a solo
musical performance. She is daring and nutty
and adds lots of spice to her family of eight!
ALEX DEBIRK (Ensemble)
is thrilled to be performing
at Tuacahn for
the first time. He is currently
a junior at BYU
studying Music Dance
Theater. Recent credits
include Little Women
(John Brooke) and Hamlet
(Marcellus) at BYU, and John Taylor in
the Nauvoo Pageant in Nauvoo, IL. Thanks
to my family who always support me, especially
my wonderful wife, Melinda, the girl
of my dreams.

MELINDA LOCKWOOD
DEBIRK (Ensemble/Cosette)
is excited to be performing
at Tuacahn for the
first time. Previous credits
include Mary in Savior of
the World, Lily in The Secret
Garden, Eliza R. Snow in
the Nauvoo Pageant, and
Cinderella in the National Premiere of The Slipper
and the Rose. Melinda has also been a part of many
recordings and concerts. She was a member of BYU’s Young Ambassadors this past year. Thanks
to friends and family who always support her, especially
her perfect husband, Alex, whom she is
thrilled to be performing with!
LAUREN DOXEY (Ensemble)
is so excited to be a
member of the Tuacahn
company this summer! Recent
credits include Little
Shop Of Horrors (Chiffon),
Little Women (Meg March),
Oklahoma! (Gertie), Thoroughly
Modern Millie (Cora), and Grease (Cheerleader).
In the fall, she will start her studies at
Southern Utah University, majoring in Vocal Performance.
She has 10 years of dance training in
jazz, ballet and tap from Diamond Talent Productions.
She would like to thank all of her family and
friends, Russ Saxton, and everyone at Diamond
Talent for all their support and love and for
putting up with her crazy passion for performing.
TAMARI DUNBAR (Ensemble
& Elsa u/s) is thrilled
to be on the Tuacahn Stage!
She started her career in theater
at age 9 performing
from California to New Jersey.
Recent regional credits:
Emily in Our Town, Rosamund
in The Robber Bridegroom
and Katya in The Brothers Karamazov. Local
credits: Emma in Betrayal for The Space Between,
Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Millie in Seven Brides
and Shelby in Steel Magnolias for St. George Musical
Theater, where she currently serves as Artistic Director.
She resides in Santa Clara with her husband,
Roger, and their three amazing children.
JAN BROBERG FELT (Elsa) started her acting career
in Orlando, Florida, as
a World Dancer/Singer at
DisneyWorld after three
years with the BYU Young
Ambassadors. She is currently
the Executive Director of St. George Musical Theater. An accomplished
actress in film, television and theater, she
played Nurse Louise on the television show
“Everwood” on the WB and has been seen in costarring
roles in the films Little Secrets (Columbia-
Tristar), Mobsters and Mormons, Poof Point
(Disney), Message In a Cell Phone (HBO Family),
The Clubhouse Detectives Series, and Passage to
Zarahemla. Favorite roles include Faye in Chapter
Two (Neil Simon Festival), Maria in The Sound
of Music (Tuacahn), Agnes in I Do! I Do! (Sundance),
Jane Eyre in Jane Eyre the Musical (Glendale
Center), Dolly in Hello Dolly!, and Nellie in
South Pacific (SGMT). Tours include Anita in
West Side Story, Eliza in My Fair Lady, & Amy in
Company. Reaching out to others by sharing her
childhood story of abduction in her book Stolen
Innocence, Jan is a popular speaker and the
spokeswoman for ‘Child Shield USA.’ Jan wants
to thank her wonderful family for their love and
great support, especially Austen.
TESS FERRELL (Liesl/
Ensemble & Cosette u/s)
was so excited to tell her
dad she would be on the
amphitheater stage this
season after hearing all the
stories of his yearly audience
experiences at Tuacahn.
Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, she was the only LA
based, and youngest member, of the original
2006-2007 cast of the National Tour of Jesus
Christ Superstar starring Ted Neeley and Corey
Glover. A UCLA theater student, Tess has
worked extensively with regional theaters in
the Los Angeles area. Credits include: Jekyll &
Hyde, Beauty and the Beast (Silly Girl/Babette
u/s), The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), Annie Get
Your Gun, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Cabaret (Sally
Bowles), Peter Pan (Tiger Lily), Fiddler on the
Roof (Hodel), Cinderella (Cinderella), The Importance
of Being Earnest (Cecily), and the
award-winning world premier of Snapshoot
(Cammy). Much thanks to Rebecca Somberg,
Gary Busby, Mom, Dad, Chase, and the Y&G
clan for always showing up.
ALI FISHER (Marta/
Young Eponine) started
acting in Seattle at two
months old when she
“starred” as a baby (it was
a stretch, but she pulled it
off) in a national Buick
commercial. She took a
few years off to grow up
then did print ads for large department stores
in the Pacific Northwest. At age five, Ali played
Gretl in the Alpine Summer Theater production
of The Sound of Music. Later, she performed as Adele in Jane Eyre The Musical.
When she is not singing into her karaoke machine
you will find her playing with friends or
on the soccer field. Ali is 10 years old and resides
in Alpine, Utah.

KEVIN GOERTZEN (Ensemble/
Enjolras & Javert
u/s) is happy to be back

a BFA in Acting from Brigham Young University.
He would like to thank all of his professors

made him who he is. He would also like to
thank his family and friends for their continuing
support and friendship. Most of all he
would like to thank his wife, Vanessa, for loving
and supporting him despite the fact that
she rarely sees him.
VANESSA GOERTZEN (Ensemble) is from
Orem, UT, and is ecstatic
to be returning to such a
beautiful venue. She was
last seen on the Tuacahn
stage as a swing during
the 2005 season. Favorite
credits include Urleen
in Footloose, Grandma Tzeitel in Fiddler on the
Roof, Ensemble in Evita, and Consuela in
West Side Story. When she’s not performing,
Vanessa enjoys extreme kite flying with her
husband. She wishes to thank her family for
their love, Lucille for her tree work, and Kevin
for always making her smile.
KATIE HINTON (Ensemble)
is a senior music
and theatre major at Dixie
State College and is so excited
to be performing in
her first season at Tuacahn!
Some of her favorite
previous roles include:
Domina in A Funny Thing
Happened... Forum, Lucy in Sweeney Todd,
Jack’s Mother in Into the Woods, The Sour Kangaroo
in Seussical, and Yum-Yum in The Mikado.
Katie loves to play the piano, is the self-proclaimed best Guitar Hero player in the world,
and recently got accepted into the Army Band,
which she will start in December!
JAIME LEE HOLM (Ensemble
& Eponine u/s) has
been performing since the
age of five. She formed the
singing duo, “Aja,” (originally
called “Love Notes”)
with her sister, Andrea,
and they signed their first
record deal when they
were 17 and 19 and released their debut album
in 2003. They toured the country opening for
acts such as Dion Warwick and Mario and Nick
Cannon and performed at major venues across
the country, Madison Square Garden being their
favorite! She would like to thank her father for
instilling the love of music and performance in
her, and her family for all their love and support.

JANIKA JENSEN (Ensemble
& Young Eponine
u/s) is excited to be performing
for her first time
at Tuacahn! She is a
straight “A” student and a
member of the Advanced
Choir at Lava Ridge Intermediate
School. Janika
performs with the “Hands in Harmony Carolers,”
singing a cappella and playing hand-bells.
She has also performed with the group “Little
Hands,” and at Disneyland with SGMT’s “Center
Stage.” Janika has recorded radio commercials
and enjoys reading, e-mailing her friends,
and of course, singing! She is excited to be
joining her dad in this year’s production.
RICK JENSEN (Ensemble
& Bishop u/s) is thrilled
to be performing at Tuacahn
this year, especially
alongside his daughter,
Janika. Rick graduated
from Utah State University
where he received a vocal scholarship and also performed with “Hands
Up” and the “Sunburst Singers.” He currently
teaches seminary for the LDS church and also
directs the “Hands in Harmony Carolers,” an a
cappella Christmas Caroling group that has
performed throughout Southern Utah and Nevada.
He wishes to thank his expectant wife
and six children, who are allowing him to have
so much fun this summer!

CYNTHIA KLUMPP (Frau

She couldn’t wait

“Royal” Cinderella experience.

CAROLINE LABRUM (Ensemble & Little Cosette
u/s) is proud to be
a resident of Ivins where
Tuacahn is in her backyard!
She has been attending
shows here since
she was four years old
and has wanted to sing
on the Tuacahn stage ever since. Her credits
include Molly in Annie, Chip in Beauty
and the Beast and Doodle in Rudolph. She is
a first grader at Dayspring Montessori, loves
to sing and dance and has three brothers, who she keeps very cultured. Thanks Tuacahn
for believing in me and all you do for
our community!
KAMERON LOPEZ (Swing) couldn’t be happier
to be back at Tuacahn
after leaving to go to
school and New York City.
She graduated from Dixie
and from BYU. She has
worked at Tuacahn selling
tickets and is now excited
to perform here. Favorite credits include, Sophie
in The Star Spangled Girl, Juliet in Romeo
and Juliet, and Lily in The Secret Garden. She
would like to thank all of her great friends at
Tuacahn for this opportunity and most of all
her family and friends, who are the best in the

TAZIA MURIE (Ensemble
& Fantine u/s)
is thrilled to be making
her debut at Tuacahn! Local
theater fans may recognize
her from past productions
with St. George
Muscial Theater. Previous
roles include Laurey
(Oklahoma!), Antonia (Man of LaMancha),
A Grand Night for Singing, and Luisa (The Fantasticks).
Taz graduated from St. Ambrose University
with a BA in Vocal Music Performance
in 2004 and has spent nearly every waking
moment of the past two years devoted to the
theater. She would like to thank her fabulous
family for their continual support, her adorable
baby girl, Bellarose, and especially her
husband, Adam, for supporting her RELENTLESS
passion for performing.
BRODIE PERRY* (Herr
Zeller u/s/Ensemble & Enjolras
u/s) is thrilled to be
back at Tuacahn this season
after performing in the
2006 season of Peter Pan
and South Pacific. Favorite
past musical theater roles
include, Percy in The Scarlet
Pimpernel, Curly in Oklahoma!, and Seymour in
Little Shop of Horrors, to name a few. He spent 5
seasons with the Utah Festival Opera and Utah
State Opera Theater where he performed in 16
operas and operettas (e.g. Carmen, Barbiere di
Siviglia and The Pirates of Penzance). Last year he
and his wife moved to Southern California so he
could perform, teach and study voice with renowned
vocal instructor, Seth Riggs. Brodie recently
returned to St. George and is a certified instructor
of the “Speech Level Singing” technique,
founded by Mr. Riggs, in his new vocal studio. He is also a proud member of Actor’s Equity Assoc.
Brodie and his wife recently added the newest
member to their family, daughter Aria.
EMILY PERUCCA (Liesl
u/s & Marionette/Eponine)
is so happy to be
back in this beautiful red
rock canyon! Her Tuacahn
credits include:
Oklahoma!, The Sound of
Music, Utah!, The Wizard
of Oz, The King and I, West
Side Story, Guys and Dolls, Singin’ in the Rain,
and Odyssey Dance Theatre’s Thriller, in which
she played the infamous Giggle Girl. Emily
was a BYU Young Ambassador while studying
in the Music, Dance, Theater program, then
left school to embark on a career in performing
with her amazing husband Shawn.

SHAWN PERUCCA (Rolf u/s & Marionette/
Ensemble) was last seen at
Tuacahn as Baby John in
West Side Story, and he
and his wife, Emily, have
been performing all over
the world. They recently
finished writing, producing,
and starring in their own two-person
show, which will be performed for cruise ships
and corporate events. You can find more info
at www.shawnandemily.com. They are excited
to be performing a segment of their show in
the Tuacahn plaza on M/W/F. Shawn and Emily
also just finished performing with the cast
of Cirque Productions (soon to be on Broadway)
in Dallas, TX, as featured dancers.
Shawn’s regional theatre credits include Singin’
in the Rain, Guys and Dolls, The Wizard of Oz,
The King and I, and Utah. Other credits include Disney Cruise Lines (Young Hercules, Peter
Pan, Aladdin), Holland America Cruise Lines,
Branson, MO, Pigeon Forge, TN, and dancing
with the NBA’s Utah Jazz. Shawn was a Young
Ambassador and a scholarship recipient for
the MDT program at BYU. Love from Shawn is
given to all his family and friends. To his wife,

on earth – I love you, izamine!”
KATIE POWELL (Marta
u/s) just finished third
grade and is excited to be
performing at Tuacahn.
She has appeared at St.
George Musical Theatre in
The Sound of Music (Gretl)
and Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat
(children’s chorus). Besides singing, Katie loves
almost any creative endeavor including playing the violin and piano, dance, art, and poetry.

JOHN PREATOR* (Rolf/

Originally from Provo,
Utah, he holds a BFA in
Music Dance Theater from
BYU where he played Harold
Hill in The Music Man and was a member of

as a Top 32 finalist on the Fox Television
reality phenomenon American Idol, and
later that year was featured in Provo’s Stadium of
Fire with Reba McEntire. John was also seen as
the opening act for the 2005 holiday tour of
Michael McLean’s The Forgotten Carols. Theatre
credits include Oklahoma!, South Pacific, Peter
Pan, Beauty and the Beast, Joseph…, She Loves
Me and The Secret Garden. Most recently he
portrayed “Joseph” in Savior of the World at the
LDS Conference Center Theatre. He would like

MINDY SMOOT ROBBINS* (Maria Rainer) is thrilled

playing Eliza in My Fair
Lady, Annie in Annie Get
Your Gun, and Liesl in The
Sound of Music. Previously,
Mindy toured with the
Broadway Company of Les Miserables covering
the role of Eponine with Colm Wilkinson
and Sutton Foster. Other credits include Walt
Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, Lex
DeAzevedo’s Gloria - The Life of Christ and BYU’s
Young Ambassadors. Mindy has recorded for
Disney, Kurt Bestor, and with Mandy Moore
and on numerous radio commercials. She guest
starred on the national television series, Touched by an Angel. She graduated from BYU with a
BFA in Music Dance Theatre and is currently
teaching voice at the university. Mindy is
the founder of the Robbins Music Theatre
Academy in Alpine, Utah where she is able to
share her passion for performing with her

National Association of the Teachers of
Singing. The most important thing in the world
to Mindy is her husband, Conor,

TN. His film credits include Footloose, King Kong
Lives and Ernest Goes to Camp. Eddy is a certified
personal trainer and 6th degree Black Belt who
trains and teaches in his St. George studio.

was recently honored as
number one in the nation at
the Kennedy Center American
College Theater Festival in Washington, DC,
for his makeup designs for Sweeney Todd. 2008
marks his third production of Les Misérables and
his second with Tuacahn, having previously appeared
as Thenardier in the Tuacahn Summer Theater
Institute’s 2005 production. Guy spends his
remaining time painting, eating, and snoozing.
KYLE TURMAN (Ensemble)
is very grateful for the

Kyle, but he is having a
blast jumping right into
them with excitement. Kyle
has always been interested
in music but was mostly involved in the percussive
side as the Lead Snare on his high school
drumline. He was also a member of the White
Peaks Centennial Pipe Band in Payson, UT. Kyle is new to theater but has been part of some amazing
shows including Oklahoma!, Joseph and the
Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Man of La
Mancha. He most recently played the role of
Matt the young lover in SGMT’s The Fantasticks.

Who’s Who Behind the scenes
SCOTT S. ANDERSON (Director, Les
Misérables/Tuacahn Artistic Director) joined
Tuacahn in 2004 and looks forward to shaping
and leading this dynamic arts institute in the
future. He has worked for more than twentyfive
years in theatre, film, and television and
previously served as producer and artistic director
for the Triad Theatre in Salt Lake City, where he
oversaw such productions as Fiddler On The Roof
(with Robert Peterson), The King and I (with
Robert Peterson), Annie (with Harve Presnell),
The Music Man (with Michael Flynn), Arsenic and
Old Lace (with Michael Flynn), 1776, A Chorus
Line, and West Side Story. Other producing
credits include Grease (National Tour), Saturday’s
Warrior (National Tour), and My Turn on Earth
(Nation Tour). Scott has directed productions of
Once Upon a Mattress, A Funny Thing Happened
on the Way to the Forum, The Foreigner, The
Murder Room, and The Star Spangled Girl. Scott
most recently directed Peter Pan at Tuacahn in
2006. He also wrote and directed the acclaimed
motion picture The Best Two Years. He continues
to work as a writer and director and has two
feature film projects in development. A graduate
of Dixie State College and the University of Utah,
Scott has also worked as a motivational speaker
and a manager of several different companies.
He is pleased to present these productions this
season and hopes to shepherd more outstanding
entertainment to the Tuacahn Amphitheatre in
the years to come.
RODGER SORENSEN (Director, The Sound
of Music) serves as chair of the Department
of Theatre and Media Arts at Brigham Young
University and coordinates the Directing
program. He enjoys working in outdoor
theatre venues, including 27 years on the
Hill Cumorah Pageant in Palmyra, New York,
serving as Artistic Director for his final seven
years. This is Rodger’s fourth season at Tuacahn
where he directed the 1997 production of
UTAH! as well as Singin’ in the Rain (2004) and
The Unsinkable Molly Brown (2003). He takes
pleasure in all areas of theatre. His recent acting
credits include Arnolphe in School for Wives,
the Stage Manager in Our Town, and Karl G.
Maeser in Journey to Temple Hill, and Come
Full Circle. Recent directing credits include Roofsliding, The Secret Garden, Papa Married a
Mormon, Archipelago, King Lear, Rashomon, and
The Magic Flute. Rodger is married to Claudia
Lunceford, and they are the parents of three
children and eight grandchildren.
DERRYL YEAGER (Co-Director, Les Misérables
& Choreographer, The Sound of Music & Les
Misérables ) has been a professional dancer for
over two decades. He received his BFA and
MFA degrees at the University of Utah while
becoming a principal dancer with Ballet West.
He performed in the Broadway productions of
A Chorus Line, Dreamgirls, and Cats and has
appeared in numerous TV and Film projects
that include Staying Alive, She’s Having a Baby,
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, A More Perfect
Union, The Young and the Restless, and General
Hospital. As a Choreographer and Director
he has worked professionally from Ballet to
Broadway, Film, Music Videos, and numerous
TV Shows. At Tuacahn, Derryl directed and
choreographed Cats, Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat (2x) and Oklahoma! He
has also choreographed UTAH!, The King and
I, and The Wizard of Oz, and Annie Get Your
Gun and My Fair Lady. As Founder and Artistic
Director of Odyssey Dance Theatre, Utah’s
most exciting and innovative professional jazz/
ballet company (and voted Best of State 2006 &
2007!), Derryl has created an amazing company
with an energetic, eclectic, and popular
repertoire that presents three complete seasons
in Utah and tours to standing ovations around
the world. Odyssey Dance Theatre will return
to Tuacahn this fall in their smash Halloween
Spectacular “Thriller”, October 24-31.
DOUG ELLIS (Scenic Designer) The set design
talents of Mr. Ellis are used in Film, Television,
Theatre, Opera, Ballet, Musicals, and
Corporate Trade Shows. He spent twelve years
in Manhattan in schooling and Art Directing
feature films and episodic television shows,
including four years as the Art Director for
Spin City staring Michael J. Fox. He is working
now as the Art Director for the Stadium of
Fire in Provo Utah and as the Set Designer of
Disney’s High School Musical 3. Recent stage
designs include: King Lear, The Philadelphia Story, Big River, Much Ado About Nothing, The
Secret Garden, and Stadium of Fire; ballets The
Snow Queen, Goldie Lock’s Adventures, and It’s a
Wonderful Life; and the opera Abinadi, which
was filmed for BYU-TV. Recent Film and
Television designs include The RM, The Home
Teachers, Out of Step, BYU’s The Writer’s Block
dramatic TV series, Howdy Town, Signing Time,
Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir,
Hancock County, The Life and Loves of Emmeline
B. Wells, and Veronica Mars. Mr. Ellis received a
BA in Theater Arts from Hunter College in New
York City (‘90) and an MFA in Design from
New York University (‘93). He is a member of
United Scenic Artists Local 829. He wishes to
thank his wife, singer Ruth Ellis, and their six
children who are their greatest productions.
CHRISTOPHER BABBAGE (Musical Director)
is delighted to be making his Tuacahn debut!
Prior to traveling west, he music directed
Smoke on the Mountain, Almost Heaven, White
Christmas, and Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story
for Circa ‘21 Playhouse in Rock Island, Illinois.
Other musical direction credits include St.
Louis MUNY (Les Misérables, assistant musical
director), Merry-Go-Round Playhouse (Jekyll &
Hyde, Show Boat, Crazy For You), Forestburgh
Playhouse (Oklahoma!, Funny Girl), Struthers
Library Theatre, and the Lucille Ball Little
Theatre. Chris has assisted and played keyboards
on many other shows, his favorites including
Chicago, Phantom, Titanic, Ragtime and Beauty
and the Beast. He has toured nationally with
Smokey Joe’s Cafe (assistant conductor, then
conductor), and internationally with the 2006
Asian tour of Grease (conductor). Chris recently
played keyboards for Lucie Arnaz in a tribute
concert to her father, Desi. Chris is a native of
Jamestown, NY and holds a Bachelor’s in Music
Education/Piano Performance and a Master’s in
Music Education from SUNY Fredonia.
WILMA MICKLER-SEARS (Costume
Designer, The Sound of Music) is designing
costumes at Tuacahn for the first time. She
recently moved here from Southern California
where she received her MFA in costume design
from California State University, Long Beach
in 1992. She designed costumes for many of the local colleges and did free lance work
in Los Angeles. The last three years before
moving to St George she designed and taught
for Long Beach Community College where she
did Love’s Labour Lost, London Assurance, The
Lucky Spot, Five Women Wearing the Same Dress,
Hobson’s Choice, Mrs. California, and Candida
as well as a dance concert each semester.
She worked for the Tony award winning South
Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa and
Shakespeare Orange County in Orange,
California, where she did Tartuff, The Merry
Wives of Windsor and Othello. Wilma fell in
love with Utah when she worked at the Utah
Shakespeare Festival during graduate school
and is glad to be living here and designing The
Sound of Music for Tuacahn.
JOHN R. TITENSOR (Costume Designer,
Les Misérables) is excited to return to Tuacahn
for his third season. He was born and raised
in Afton, Wyoming, but calls Yuma, Arizona,
home. He received a BA in Theatre Education
and an MS in Instructional Technology. His first
performance was at the age of three, and has
been involved in every aspect of the theatre
since. He has directed more than 60 productions
in a wide variety of venues. As a scenic and
costume designer his designs have been seen in
productions internationally and throughout the
western United States. His most recent works
have been seen at regional main stage venues.
Previous designs at Tuacahn include My Fair
Lady in 2007 and Captain Hook and his pirates
in Peter Pan in 2006. He was selected in 2006
as one of the top ten international designers at
the International USITT conference where his
designs for Fuente Ovejuna were highlighted in
it’s trade magazine TD&T. He is excited about
the opportunity of presenting his work again at
Tuacahn and hopes that you enjoy the magic
that only theatre and your imagination can
provide.
JOSEPH L. EDDY (Lighting Designer) is an
original company member, having worked
at Tuacahn since its inaugural season in
1995. His love for this facility and southern
Utah in general keep him coming back year after year. He has worked with Tuacahn as a
deck crew person, electrician, and even stage
manager but has found his niche in Lighting
Design. Currently, he lives in Las Vegas and
works as a Lighting Designer and Programmer
in various showrooms and convention centers
around the city. Vegas has allowed him to
work with some of the best designers and
performers in the world, and has given him
keen insight and enjoyment in his career. But
he finds that most of his inspiration comes
from his son Asa.
DAVID SWENSON (Sound Designer) has an
undergraduate degree from Brigham Young
University and recently completed a Master’s
degree in sound design and technology at
Purdue University. He was recently recognized
as the top young sound designer in the
country with the USITT Clear-Com Sound
Achievement Award. Credits include: Children
of Eden (BYU), My Fair Lady (BYU), Little
Shop of Horrors (Purdue), King Lear (Purdue),
and Saturday’s Warrior (1999 National Tour).
David worked as a sound engineer for the
host broadcast company at the 2002 Salt Lake
Winter Olympic Games. 2008 marks David’s
seventh season at Tuacahn, having previously
designed Cinderella, My Fair Lady, Peter Pan,
South Pacific, Beauty and the Beast, Joseph…,
Singin’ in the Rain, West Side Story, Guys and
Dolls, The King and I, The Wizard of Oz, The
Unsinkable Molly Brown, and Utah.
CHRIS DIAMONTIDES (Hair & Makeup
Designer) has been working as a Wig and
Makeup Designer for 10 years. He has worked
for such companies as Santa Fe Opera, San
Diego Opera, La Jolla Playhouse, Opera
Columbus, Toledo Opera and Florida Grand
Opera. He is happy to have the opportunity to
assist in the sucess of Tuacahn’s Les Misérables
and The Sound of Music.
JAN HUNSAKER (Assistant Director, Les
Misérables) was born and raised in Lehi, Utah,
and received her BA in Theatre Arts and English
at SUU. She obtained her MFA in Theatre
Directing at the U of U and now serves as
Tuacahn High School’s Assistant Principal and Artistic Director. She will be directing I Do!
I Do! at the Neil Simon Festival this summer
as well. Favorite directing credits include Les
Misérables: School Version (Tuacahn Summer
Theatre Institute 2005 & Lehi High School
2001), Children of Eden (SCERA), Titanic:
The Musical (Western Premiere SCERA),
The Comedy of Errors (International Theatre
Festival, Edinburgh, Scotland), Once on This
Island (The Grove Theatre), and everything
Shakespeare. “Love to ALH.”
GARY CALDWELL (Conductor, The Sound
of Music) is in his thirtieth year as Director of
Bands at Dixie State College in St. George, Utah.
He conducts the Symphony Band and Brass
Ensemble. He is equally experienced in jazz
and has directed the Dixie State College Jazz
Ensemble for many years. He was appointed
Maestro of the Southwest Symphony Orchestra
in 1989, a position he still holds. These different
ensembles with diverse musical requirements
demand expertise in more than one style. Mr.
Caldwell is equally competent in each area.
He has worked with Tuacahn since 2000 and
has conducted orchestras for numerous shows
and operas. For Gary, conducting the theater
orchestra for the Tuacahn summer season is
one of the musical highlights of each year.
BRAD SHELTON (Properties Designer) is
super excited to be back home at Tuacahn
for his fourth season. He previously designed
Grease and Little Shop of Horrors, and designed
High School Musical this summer for the Tuacahn
Summer Institute. Brad graduated from Weber
State University with a BA in Scenic Design and
has been working at the Fulton Opera House
in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, for the past year.
He would like to thank his loving Family and
Friends for thier support and encouragement
through the years.
EDDY SCHUMACHER (Fight Choreographer,
Les Misérables) has trained in the Chinese,
Japanese, Okinawan, and Korean fighting arts
for over 30 years. He holds advanced black
belt levels in several different arts, including
a 6th degree black belt in Okinawan karate,
Sifu/instructor rating in the Shaolin Chuan. He also coached high school wrestling for
4 years. He is trained in several sword arts,
including foil, epee, and oriental weaponry. He
has choreographed fights and stunts for several
local high school productions. He served as
fight captain at Tuacahn for Utah!, Oklahoma!,
and Peter Pan, on which he also assisted with
the fight choreography.

EMILY PROVANCE* (Assistant Stage
Manager) returns to Tuacahn for a fourth
summer. She loves spending time in St.
George with all the Tuacahn regulars, right
down to the horses, goats, and chickens. In
the wintertime, she writes books and works
in various regional theatres, including recent
productions of My Fair Lady, The Mikado, and
Little Shop of Horrors.
BERNADETTE SCHOENBORN* (Assistant
Stage Manager) is a 2005 graduate from
Radford University in Radford, Virginia. She
spent three summers stage managing and
assistant stage managing at Utah Musical
Theatre in Ogden, Utah, for shows such as:
Pal Joey, Zorro, Side by Side by Sondheim, Kiss
Me Kate, Two by Two, and Dames at Sea. She
spent one year as a stage management intern
at the Juilliard School in New York City in
2005-2006. Other credits include: Kentucky
Repertory Theatre in 2006 doing The Merry
Wives of Windsor and Murderer, Unto These Hills
in Cherokee, NC, and touring Four Score and
Seven Years Ago and Hans Brinker’s Christmas
with Artspower National Touring Theatre in
New York City. Bernadette is happy to be back
at Tuacahn for the second time.
AUTUMN ORME (Company Manager/House
Manager) is glad to be back for her seventh year
at Tuacahn. She began at the age of 15 working
as a concessions girl and has since then climbed
her way up, working in such areas as the gift
shop, accounting/payroll, backstage wardrobe,
and now serves as company manager and house
manager for the 2008 summer season. She is
currently a senior at the University of Utah
and majors in Political Science. Autumn’s three
loves are ice cold Cherry Pepsi, NFL Football,
and her family.
NANCY HAMBLIN (Costume Shop Manager) comes to Tuacahn with 20 years of experience in live stage theatre as well as in film. Some of her favorite experiences come from working in Skagway Alaska, on the Days of 98 show with Soapy Smith, Hale Center Theatre in Salt Lake City, working on the hit series Touched by and Angel, working with designer Tom McKinley on High School Musical 2. Nancy enjoys many aspects of the theatre from designing and building costumes, building set and painting to performing vocaly and instrumentaly with credits on the LDS hit movie Home Teachers as well as Utahs local artist TSSA compilation CD for 2005 and 2006. Nancy enjoys working with her husband who is the technical director for Tuacahn and playing with her daughters Alexa and Eliza.
WES HAMBLIN (Technical Director) joined Tuacahn in 2006 and brings 18 years of scenery building experience with him, most notably 8 years on the TV series "Touched by an Angel." After earning a BFA from USU his career has taken him from Alaska to Florida and New York to California. He is excited to settle in one place for awhile and spend time with his wife (who also works for Tuacahn) and two daughters.
KEVIN M. SMITH (CEO/Producer) has been
with Tuacahn for more than ten years, serving
in various capacities including marketing
associate, company manager, production
manager, development associate, executive
producer, and Chief Executive Officer.
He received his undergraduate from Brigham
Young University with a B.A. in Sociology and
minor in Business Management, and received a
Master of Education degree from Southern
Utah University. Kevin has produced or coproduced
more than 30 musicals at Tuacahn,
and oversees all facets of Tuacahn operations
and programs. Kevin was instrumental in
the creation of Utah’s first public charter
high school, Tuacahn High School for the
Performing Arts, which opened its doors in
1999. Kevin has served as a board member
on the Utah Public School Charter Association
and is currently serving on the newly formed
Ivins Tourism Council Board. Kevin lives in
Ivins with his wonderful wife, Rebecca, and
their four children.
KEVIN E. WARNICK (Managing Director/
Technical Producer) graduated from Brigham
Young University with a B.A. in Music and an
emphasis in sound recording. He worked for
a number of years in the professional music
industry as a front of house, monitor, and
systems engineer in a variety of venues for a
plethora of performers. Since joining Tuacahn
in its inaugural season, Kevin has produced
and/or designed sound for most of Tuacahn’s
subsequent productions. In 1999 he was invited
to serve as part of Tuacahn’s management team
and is currently functioning as the Managing
Director and Technical Producer . Originally
from Ft. Worth, Texas, he currently resides in
Ivins with his lovely wife, Kareen, and their
three children.
JEFF MARTIN (Associate Producer) works
as the Arts Manager for Brigham Young
University. He earned an MA in drama from the
University of Oklahoma and undergraduate
degrees from BYU and Ricks College. He
has worked in general management for the
Broadway and touring companies of 42nd Street,
Urinetown, Blast!, and Into the Woods. Directing
credits include: Broadway Divas in Concert
(Tuacahn), The Taffetas (St. George Musical
Theatre), and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown
(Provo Theatre Company) and the upcoming
production of The Giver at BYU. For Tuacahn,
Jeff stage managed Beauty and the Beast, Joseph
and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Singin’
in the Rain, West Side Story, and Guys and
Dolls. Other credits include Fiddler on the Roof
(Sundance), Saturday’s Warrior (1999 National
Tour), The Texas Chainsaw Manicurist (Provo
Theatre Company), Children of Eden (BYU),
and The Secret Garden (BYU). Jeff is a member
of Actors’ Equity Association. Thanks to Stacy,
